Heidi Moorman Coudal
Founder & Owner (she/her)

My love for food started early—shaped by a childhood spent living in places like Germany and Greece, and traveling with my family. My mom sparked that passion while we lived in Europe, taking us on the road and introducing us to global flavors and traditions that continue to inspire the way I cook and entertain.

When I launched BDP, I was in the kitchen every day, cooking alongside my sister/co-owner. Though I’m rarely in the kitchen, I can jump into any role if absolutely needed. I still love hosting events—at BDP and at home—and I believe that sharing a meal is one of the most powerful ways to connect with others.

Outside of work, I rarely sit still. I’m usually hiking with my husband, Jim, and our dog, gardening, tending to my bees, playing Scrabble or practicing yoga—I’m a 200-hour certified teacher. I have three grown children who continue to inspire me every day.

My dream dinner party guests: Julia Child, Frida Kahlo, Patti Smith, Gertrude Stein, Gloria Steinem, Oprah, and Ali Wong. I’d cook an Indian feast, and we’d have an engaging conversation and laugh all night.
Favorite BDP memory: We catered hundreds of concerts each year, but Terrapin Station at Alpine Valley was legendary. Sign: Sagittarius
Countries visited: 56
