A Fond Farewell from Big Delicious Planet.
After 31 incredible years, Big Delicious Planet has officially closed its catering operation. Since 1994, it has been our joy to cook, create, grow food, and celebrate life’s moments — from weddings and special events to concerts, everyday gatherings, and our beloved Urban Farm Dinners.
We’re deeply grateful to everyone who trusted us to be part of their stories. To our incredible, creative team, our loyal clients, and many event partners: thank you for helping make Big Delicious Planet such a special company for more than three decades. It has been the honor of a lifetime.
With heartfelt thanks,
Heidi Moorman Coudal, Owner & Founder

Chicago’s First Caterer with an Urban Farm
Right outside our kitchen, our thriving on-site urban farm grows over 100 varieties of organic vegetables, herbs and edible flowers throughout the growing season. Everything we harvest is for our own use and the dishes we make for you.

Tucked into the industrial corridor of West Town, our hidden urban farm is a true oasis. Spanning three city lots, it features 80 raised garden beds that produce thousands of pounds of vegetables each year — grown exclusively for our own use.
